This is something I wish more humans had the awareness of. Especially in this strange and scary world where we are seeing the results of our actions on this delicate planet and her intricate eco systems. If humanity wasn’t so full of collective self importance we might just have a chance to stop the damage (if we aren’t already past the tipping point). Sadly, given the amount of disposable gloves and masks already being washed up on shores all over the world, I suspect we have learnt nothing during this period when Mother Nature did her best to give us a wake up call. Memento mori, indeed, I just hope we don’t take Earth and all her other sentient inhabitants with us when we go.

I find myself in the middle of the ocean several times a year while in the Bahamas. My husband and I constantly discuss how small we are in the big picture and how exciting it is to explore the world and learn . I haven’t been able to swim with whales yet but hope to soon!

I have to admit I struggle with this… I don’t want to die. I don’t want to be forgotten. I don’t want my opinions to not matter, to not be the.right.one… But you are correct. Momento Mori… we will all die… I have thought of that many times, and think of that still, and struggle with it still… I can’t tie this one up in a bow…
