How do you tame a wild bird, its flighty little heart,

its constant search for sustenance, shelter, safety?

Its desire to escape the confines of its lofty cage?

How do you unravel the tangled longings of hope,

desire, reality, intellect

experience, knowledge,

words unsaid?

How do you illuminate and clarify

that which is unknowing?

Unable to be hoped for?

How do you begin to wish for the answers

when you haven’t been brave enough

to ask the obvious questions?
